
An ad-hoc network is a local area network (LAN) that is built spontaneously as devices connect. Instead of relying on a base station to coordinate the flow of messages to each node in the network, the individual network nodes forward packets to and from each other.
Here i going to show how setup ad-hoc connection and connect your iPhone. ( No need of wifi router )
Req:
1) PC - im using Windows XP Egyption hak-little bit changes from SP2,
2) Inter net connection - (menatelcom wimax internet connection)
3) wireless card ( SMC wireless 54Mps USB 2.0 adaptor)
4) iPhone ( iPhone unlocked 2.2)




confirm network key - retype the key

here i describe 5 step to establish the connection
1) connect your computer to internet. make sure that internet connection is working
2) share internet connection of the host computer
3) create a ad hoc wireless network on the host computer
4) enable wireless connection (ad hoc)
5) connect your iPhone to ad hoc connection
Step (1) - connect your coputer to internet nd make sure that connection is working (its simple)
Step (2) - to enable internet sharing du the following
2a - Start > control pannel > network connection

2b - right click the connection (used to access the intenet) and click the properties

2c - on the advanced tab select the check box (allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection
2d - click ok to save your changes
Step (3) - create a ad hoc wireless network on the host computer
3a - connect your wireless card nd install driver (nd make sure that its working)
3b - open the network connection ( describe in step 2a )
3c - right click the wireless connection and then select properties
3d - in the Wireless Network tab select the check box (use Windows to configure my wireless network settings ) highlated potion in the below image..
3e - press add button under preffered networks

3f - On the association tab
type your network name (SSID)
network athentication - open
data encryption - WEP (for sequre connetion)
network key -
A WEP key is a sequence of hexadecimal digits. These digits include the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-F. Some examples of WEP keys are:
1A648C9FE2
99D767BAC38EA23B0C0176D15
The length of a WEP key depends on the type of WEP security (called "encryption") utilized:
40- / 64-bit WEP: 10 digit key
104- / 128-bit WEP: 26 digit key
256-bit WEP: 58 digit key
confirm network key - retype the key
3g - click ok to save the settings

3h - select the general tab
3i - select internet protocol (TCP/IP), click properties

3j - type the ip address - 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask - 255.255.255.0

3k - click ok to save settings
3l - click ok
Step (4) - enable the wireless connection (ad hoc)
add sooon pls wait
Step (5) - setup the iPhone
5a - got settings > wifi > select your ad hoc connetion

5b - tap the blue right arow
5c - select static ( the default is DHCP)
5d - type the following
IP Address - 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mak- 255.255.255.0
Router - 192.168.0.1 (ip address of wireless connection step 3j )
DNS - chk step 5e (the DNS address of default ineternet connection)

5e - for DNS address
right click your internet connetion ( step 2b the default internet connection) and select status
tab and then press details button in Support tab

You can see the DNS Server (highlated portion in the below image). type the address to you iphone setting Step 5d

Now your ad hoc connetion is finish.... chk safari in iPhone..............
